The Saucy Straps Story

Saucy Straps is family owned, operated and started as a vision of Diana Thorson.  Wanting to wear tank tops and sleeveless clothing but not wanting her bra straps showing, Diana started looking for a solution.  She tried the beaded straps, which were very uncomfortable and didn’t offer any support.  She thought she found a solution with the plastic clear straps, but they too were uncomfortable and looked as bad as the tan bra straps.  Even if they are clear, you could still see the unsightly plastic.  Next she tried the tops with shelf bras but they didn’t offer the support she needed. Diana eventually gave up wearing tanks until she had plans for a family vacation to a sporting event that would require her to be in the heat all day.  She tried all the lingerie and department stores looking for a bra with straps that would be cute enough to show.  If the straps are going to show, they should a least be attractive and comfortable!  Finding nothing that suited her needs, Diana decided to make her own straps to be worn with a bra that had removable straps.  Women began to inquire about where she found the bra with the cute straps.  When she showed women they were just straps, Diana found herself filling requests to make them some too.  She found that all women, of all ages and sizes are sharing the same need. Women want cute, fashionable, and comfortable bra straps.  With encouragement from her family and friends, Saucy Straps was born!

Diana’s daughter, Amy Brown and her daughter-in-law, Amanda Thorson both felt the same excitement for the products as she did.  Diana’s granddaughters, Madison and Chloe, also wanted to help and were asked to be advisors with the fashion trends of the younger generation.  Together, the five girls created product lines to fit all age groups and style tastes.  From there, they all got busy in their own homes cutting, sewing and packaging Saucy Straps to be sold to the public.

The company slogan soon became a motto to woman… Be Bold, Be Daring, and Be Saucy. With a commitment to empowering women of all ages, Diana made a vow that when the time came to hire additional employees, she would recruit single moms, displaced homemakers and stay at home moms who needed more time with their children and a little extra income.  She now has a list of women she can turn to for extra helping hands. We are proud to say that every strap we sell is hand made in our homes or the homes of other moms, daughters and granddaughters in the state of Washington.
